In their latest update, Old School RuneScape immerses players once more into the tumultuous politics and dark corners of Great Kourend, a place where an old and enraged entity has awakened at last. The new boss, Yama, the Master of Pacts, has been activated, a minotaur demon bathed in flames who’s been building power in the Chasm of Fire, ready to pounce when the time is ripe.

If you’ve completed A Kingdom Divided (and have finished with Royal Titans), the story continues from there. Following your confrontation with Yama’s Judge in 2021, you may have thought that was the end, but it seems the real danger persisted. With wings, horns, hooves, and a menacing two-handed axe, this hidden threat is not to be underestimated. Alongside Yama comes the Disciples of Yama, a fanatical cult devoted to fire worship, who are eager to offer themselves as sacrifices for him.

This challenging battle is specifically tailored for skilled players. To have any hope of success, you’ll need to have finished the quest, possess superior combat abilities, and be equipped with the finest gear. You can either face him alone or with companions. Overcoming him grants access to fresh loot, such as Demon Tallow for brewing Surge Potions, a Chasm of Fire Teleport Scroll, new Grimoire Pages, and a few other secret rewards.

The Chasm has been expanded with an exclusive mining and smithing zone specifically for the gathering of Crimson Lovakite, a scarce resource found only in this fiery cavern. By using it, you can create the Oathplate armor set, which significantly enhances your late-game equipment. Therefore, even if you’re not focused on defeating bosses, there remains a compelling reason to explore the depths of the Chasm.
