Many actors in the limelight haven’t led a storybook life in the realm of stardom and glamour. The actress we’re discussing today has collaborated with heavyweights like Aamir Khan and Rishi Kapoor. At just 17, she was already making waves but at 19, she found herself leaving her home with an infant daughter.
Discussing none other than Rukhsar Rehman, famously recognized for roles in movies such as PK, Uri, and 83. Her acting career began when she was still a young teenager, and she had the honor of working alongside the legendary Rishi Kapoor in films like Yaad Rakhegi Duniya and Inteha Pyar Ki.
Straight out of school, at just 17 years old, Ruskhar had already landed lead roles in significant productions. Yet, this early success proved fleeting as her parents didn’t consider acting as a noble profession. They held the belief that maintaining a steady family life took priority and arranged her marriage instead.
Regrettably, her marriage didn’t last and at 19, she fled her home along with her 8-month-old daughter Aisha Ahmed. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, the actress shared that she sought refuge with her father who supported her choice. She started a boutique initially, but her passion for acting continued to resonate within her.
2005 found me making a heart-wrenching choice, leaving my precious daughter with her grandparents. It wasn’t easy, but I knew it was necessary for her to have the life she truly deserved. I packed up and embarked on a journey to Mumbai, starting from ground zero with humble roles, auditions, and rejections. This arduous path led me to star in films such as D, Sarkar, PK, Uri, and 83.
Aisha Ahmed, daughter of Rukhsar, is also widely recognized in online streaming platforms with numerous shows such as Minus One and 3 Storeys among her credits. Furthermore, the young actress has amassed a significant following on social media, boasting nearly 907k followers. According to Aisha, these roles weren’t just professional advancements but also opportunities for her to reclaim aspects of herself. She has appeared in TV shows like Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Tumhari Paakhi, Adaalat, Haq Se and several others.
