It seems like the dynamic between Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack is such a significant part of HGTV that one might wonder if the network truly exists without their on-screen spats. Interestingly, despite their split in 2016, they’ve managed to avoid any major drama on air for quite some time. However, after their show “Flip or Flop” ended in 2022, they both ventured off to individual projects before reuniting on TV with the competition show “The Flip Off” in 2025. Now, it appears that old habits die hard as they’re already engaging in friendly banter about a potential Season 2 of their show.

With Season 1 seeing Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa face off against a newly single Christina Haack (Josh Hall was supposed to team up with Haack before they filed for divorce separately at the beginning of The Flip Off’s production), fans have suggested shaking things up for a second season by pitting the “king of flipping” against his two queens. Tarek seemed to find this idea laughable, as he fired a shot at Christina and Heather Rae on Instagram:

It seems as though he’s setting a challenge, and considering the resemblance between his wife Heather Rae El Moussa’s design style and that of his ex-wife Christina Haack during Season 1, it would make for an intriguing collaboration. However, along with that somewhat sarcastic comment in the caption where he suggested, “I think you guys are forgetting who taught them how to flip… 👀🛠️,” he also mentioned in the video: “I think you’re all forgetting who taught them how to flip…” followed by a wink and hammer emoji.

It seems like those girls are outperforming me in house-flipping; I suspect there was a bit too much celebrating on Mother’s Day, to put it frankly.

While I doubt that’s the smartest tone to take when speaking about the mothers of your children, that’s just how Tarek El Moussa does it, and as per usual, Christina Haack took the bait, responding on her own Instagram Stories:

[Heather Rae] and I would smoke you ……

If you believe that The Flipping El Moussas’ star was content to let his ex-wife have the final say, then you likely haven’t witnessed the “beautiful chaos” that characterizes their flipping show series. Tarek reinforced (intensified?) his position by sharing another post in response.

As a die-hard movie fan, I’d wager that convincing Heather to savor a slice of smoked turkey is more likely than seeing my rivals outdo me in a contest! 😂😂

Following the conclusion of Season 1 of “The Flip Off“, I eagerly anticipated a second season. However, I hoped that Christina Haack would select a partner to share the competition load instead of shouldering it alone. Intriguingly, I find the concept of her teaming up with a star from “Selling Sunset” quite appealing, and it seems Heather Rae El Moussa might feel the same, based on her recent social media activity.

There’s growing excitement among fans about a potential second season of “The Flip Off”, with Tarek El Moussa already engaging in friendly rivalries with Heather Rae and Christina look-alikes.
