Daniel Craig, Cillian Murphy in Talks to Star in Damien Chazelle’s Prison Drama

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Craig and Cillian Murphy are discussing roles in Damien Chazelle’s as-yet-unnamed prison film.

Paramount will release the drama that is being created by Chazelle and Olivia Hamilton, through their production company called Wild Chickens Productions.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m keeping tight-lipped about the specifics, but here’s what I can share – this game appears to be a thrilling two-player experience, unfolding within the walls of a grimy, foreboding prison.

A late year start of production is being eyed.

The element serves as a crucial turning point for the director of the movie “La La Land,” who was previously preparing for a summer filming of his Evel Knievel biography, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio. However, after numerous discussions, DiCaprio opted to change direction, choosing instead to collaborate with Martin Scorsese again. This decision was likely influenced by the fact that Scorsese, famously known for “Taxi Driver” and “Goodfellas,” is now 82 years old.

At a certain stage, Chazelle had been collaborating with DiCaprio on the prison venture; however, their focus subsequently shifted towards Kneivel.

As Craig, who recently wrapped up my role as James Bond in 2021’s No Time to Die, I’m excited to dive back into mystery solving with my third Benoit Blanc thriller, Wake Up Dead Man, set to premiere on Netflix later this year. Before that, you can catch me behind bars in Greta Gerwig’s Narnia adaptation.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that Murphy clinched an Oscar for his captivating portrayal of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the atomic bomb inventor, in Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece, “Oppenheimer.” However, the spotlight has since shifted as he’s immersed himself in more intimate and quintessentially British productions like “Small Things Like These” and “The Immortal Man.

Deadline first broke the news regarding the casting dealmaking.
