Fans of Twin Peaks who had been eagerly waiting since the show’s third season in 2017 will be thrilled to hear that key actors from the original cast are planning a nationwide tour later this year.
Beginning in early August, key cast members from the fantastical David Lynch and Mark Frost-produced saga will be engaging in reminiscent discussions in various cities throughout the United States, ranging from Tysons, Virginia, to Seattle, Washington. Ray Wise (portraying Leland Palmer), Harry Goaz (Deputy Andy Brennan), Kimmy Robertson (Lucy Moran) along with Twin Peaks: The Return‘s executive producer Sabrina S. Sutherland will delve into their experiences on the show and exchange backstage anecdotes at these ticketed events.
Sheryl Lee, who portrayed the homecoming queen whose murder was pivotal to the plot in the story and delivered a stunning performance in the 1992 film “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me“, will also make appearances at specific locations across the Western United States.
The tour commences within just under a year following the demise of series co-creator Lynch at the age of 78. As per Sutherland, who now oversees Lynch’s estate, the esteemed filmmaker granted approval for the tour prior to his passing.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t hide my excitement about our upcoming nationwide tour to pay tribute to the iconic series, “Twin Peaks,” alongside fans across the U.S. It’s a pity I won’t be able to share daily updates with him as promised, but every night, I’ll raise a toast to his exceptional work and keep him close in spirit.
This tour not only showcases all the events, but also features visits to two famous locations from the series in Washington state. On October 18th, an event that’s already sold out, fans will get a chance to explore the house in Everett, Washington which was the Palmer residence in the series, accompanied by Lee, Wise, and property owner Mary Reber, who played Alice Tremond. They’ll share stories from the series and “Fire Walk With Me”. (It’s yet to be confirmed if tea, coffee, and cherry pie will be served.)
On October 20th, Lee and Wise are planning to tour the Kiana Lodge located in Poulsbo, Washington. This lodge served as the filming location for the interiors of the Great Northern Hotel and the Martells’ residence in a TV series called Twin Peaks. The exterior of this venue is particularly renowned, having been the spot where Laura Palmer was discovered dead, wrapped in plastic by a colossal log on the beach in the pilot episode of the same series.
David Roy Williams Entertainment is organizing the events, licensed from Paramount Location-Based Experiences, riding on the resurgence of interest in Lynch’s fanbase and nostalgia for the television series ‘Twin Peaks’.
2021’s Cannes Film Festival debuted the documentary titled “Welcome to Lynchland“, a deep dive into the life and career of the filmmaker behind “Blue Velvet” and “Mulholland Drive”. Meanwhile, another non-fiction film, focusing on the life and work of Catherine Coulson, affectionately known as the “Log Lady” from “Twin Peaks“, has been showcased in various cities across the U.S.
When it debuted on ABC in 1990, the series “Twin Peaks” was instrumental in shaping the kind of prestigious television we recognize today, thanks to its intricate mystery plotline, cinematic touches, and dedicated fanbase. Following its cancellation during its second season, David Lynch revisited the Pacific Northwest with “Fire Walk With Me,” a film that initially flopped both critically and commercially upon release. However, over time, it has been reevaluated and even received the Criterion Collection treatment.
2017 saw Lynch and Frost shatter expectations as their Showtime miniseries, “Twin Peaks: The Return,” left audiences puzzled yet thrilled with its unconventional narrative style, while maintaining the characteristic ambiguity often seen in Lynch’s work, offering few comforting explanations.
