The killing of those deemed heretics carries on, as the successor to Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – maintaining its nostalgic first-person shooter approach – has now been officially unveiled and promises to be larger in nearly every aspect.
The video game titled “Boltgun 2” is being crafted by Auroch Digital and slated for launch in 2026 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. The game was unveiled at the Warhammer Skulls 2025 event, and based on the early sneak peek, it’s clear that they aim to intensify chainsword action and surpass the first version.

The settings are diverse and span from the hive cities, swampy jungles, to other challenging terrains inspired by the Warhammer 40K universe.
This game maintains the classic feel of old-school shooters from the ’90s, drawing inspiration particularly from games such as Doom and Quake. It offers fluid movement and high-octane action. The battle sequences remain intense and chaotic, though they’ve been significantly refined for a better gaming experience.
In this updated roster, you’ll find familiar foes like Nurglings and Chaos Cultists, but also new threats, including Bloodletters mounted on colossal Juggernauts.
In this updated version, the arsenal has been enhanced to offer a wider variety of ways to dismantle opponents into gruesome pieces. To prevent players from getting disoriented amidst the chaos, the sequel incorporates a novel in-game navigation system that assists in navigating through the mayhem on complex maps.
