According to reports, Paresh Rawal has repaid Akshay Kumar’s production company the signing fee of INR 11 lakh with a 15% interest rate, following his departure from the film “Hera Pheri 3.” The conflict began when Rawal announced his withdrawal from the comedy-drama. Subsequently, it was reported by TopMob that Akshay Kumar’s production company took legal action against Rawal for INR 25 crore due to his alleged unprofessional conduct.
According to a source speaking in a report on Bollywood Hungama, Paresh Rawal has repaid an amount of Rs 11 lakhs along with a 15% annual interest, plus some additional funds, due to his decision to withdraw from the series.
According to the information, the seasoned actor’s overall payment was set at 150 million rupees. As outlined in the contract, he received 11 lakh rupees as an upfront fee, and the remaining balance of approximately 14.89 crores was due one month after the film’s release. The source reported that this clause gave the veteran actor some concerns.
It was also noted that filming for the main part of the movie wouldn’t start until next year. This suggests that the comedy-adventure may not be released until late 2026 or even in 2027. Consequently, Paresh would have had to wait around two years for his remaining acting payments.
Reports indicate that the sneak peek for Hera Pheri 3 was filmed on the Bhooth Bangla sets, with the team behind the horror-comedy handling both the teaser and promotional material. However, the specifics of how this storyline will unfold in the future are yet to be revealed.
From my perspective as a lifestyle enthusiast, it appears that according to India Today, the actor Rawal decided to step away from Hera Pheri 3 due to his request for a substantial remuneration of 25 crores to revisit his cherished character, Babu Rao. He felt that the film’s success would be significantly influenced by the nostalgia surrounding this iconic role. However, it seems that Akshay Kumar was reluctant to meet this increased demand and declined the proposition.
In their professional careers, Akshay and Paresh are scheduled to act together in the movie “Bhooth Bangla,” which will be helmed by director Priyadarshan. The film is slated for a release on April 2, 2026.
