Is Jay’s Fate Sealed? Ghosts Star Reveals Shocking Season 5 Secrets!

Actor Utkarsh Ambudkar has hinted at what viewers can look forward to in terms of his character’s development in the upcoming fifth season of the popular CBS sitcom. Over the course of the past four seasons, Ambudkar has portrayed Jay, a chef and supportive spouse who left his urban career to co-run a bed and breakfast with his wife Sam, following her unexpected inheritance of a rural mansion.

As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I can’t help but reflect on the nail-biting season finale that left us all on the edge of our seats. The unexpected twist revolved around my character, Jay, who unwittingly struck a deal with the devil after Hetty’s nefarious husband masqueraded as his publicist. With Elias relentlessly pursuing him, Jay’s life hangs precariously in the balance.

In an exclusive interview, Ambudkar shed light on Jay’s upcoming Season 5 journey, divulging that Sam and their spectral companions will fiercely guard Jay from harm. “I believe this protective stance will pave the way for, if there’s a chance, into exploring the roots of why he signed with a publicist, his determination to run the restaurant, and how he unintentionally sealed a pact with the devil,” he shared. Translation: My character has a lot of personal growth and revelations to navigate in the next two seasons.

Ambudkar went on to say, “It remains uncertain whether our boy Jay will survive. We shall have to wait and see. Elias is after him, but now it’s Sam’s turn to shield Jay. The ghosts also play a role in this. Previously, he was the one who either jumped on board with the reckless plan or got swept up in others’ madness. But now, the error he has made carries real life-threatening repercussions. Consequently, everyone in the house must safeguard him.

In response to being questioned about the prospect of Jay’s demise, Ambudkar candidly acknowledged his uncertainty regarding the fate of his character. He expressed that he anticipates the unexpected, stating, “I’ve been given 44 episodes to survive. That’s about it. I have no clue what’s in store for Jay. It’s going to be thrilling.

However, they soon find out that it’s not just in disrepair, but also inhabited by the spirits of its former residents, who only Samantha can perceive. The show, titled ‘Ghosts’, tells a humorous and emotional tale about a new venture that teaches us that connections and self-discovery aren’t exclusive to the living.
