As an avid player of Elden Ring Nightreign, I’m excited to share a tip about unlocking one of the final characters – the formidable Revenant. Unlike the previous Nightfarer, this character requires a few extra steps to secure. Prepare for a tough battle, but rest assured that victory will reward you with the most powerful support character in the game.
Here’s how to get the Revenant:
1. Complete the main storyline up to a specific point.
2. Find and defeat a hidden boss associated with the Revenant questline.
3. Return to a certain NPC who will then offer you the opportunity to summon the Revenant as an ally in battle.
4. Agree to their terms, and the Revenant will be yours, ready to deal massive damage while protecting allies and keeping enemies at bay.
Obtaining the Besmirched Frame
First off, it’s essential to persuade the Duchess to access the Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign. After the Duchess joins your party, navigate towards the Small Jar Bazaar and acquire the Besmirched Frame. Initially, this artifact might seem costly, but typically three or four missions should generate enough funds for its purchase.
As I hold this fascinating artifact in my hands, doubling as an intriguing Relic for my inventory, I glance at my map, and voila! A quest icon catches my eye. I make my way towards it. If by chance I get lost en route, I’ll remember that the destination is none other than the very room where the Journal resides.
In the area where the paintings hang, you might spot a ghostly figure lurking in the corner. Engaging this spirit will lead you to an intense battle with not one, but four adversaries.
How to Defeat the Night Idol
If you decide to engage in the duel, you’ll end up in a training ground. Here, your goal is to vanquish the Night Idol and her three accompanying spirits. The battle may prove challenging for melee classes, thus it might be wise to bring along the Ironeye. Once you step into the arena, here’s what you should do:
- Focus on the smallest Spirit, the one with the rapier. This one attacks quickly but also has the least poise, meaning you can stagger it with your shots or other attacks.
- After that, you can ignore the other two Spirits and focus on the Night Idol, since the former two are quite slow. Yet, if you want to defeat them all, start with the hooded one and finish with the large skeleton. The latter is more dangerous but also the slowest of the bunch.
- When facing the Night Idol, stay close to her at all times and try to use heavy attacks or spam your arrows, if you brought Ironeye. If you’re far away, she’ll throw holy attacks your way, which hurt a lot. If you get too close, she’ll attack with spectral claws, which also hit hard. However, she also has very low poise, meaning that some strong attacks will stagger her.
After defeating the Night Idol, you’ll acquire the ability to control the Revenant as a playable character. Unlike other characters, the Revenant offers a diverse arsenal that combines high damage from Incantations, summons, and healing capabilities when the appropriate seals are in place. Moreover, if you enjoy playing on your own, prioritizing the unlocking of the Revenant is strongly recommended.
