When visiting theme parks, it’s usually the attractions that grab people’s attention. However, there’s a wealth of other aspects to appreciate. For instance, when constructing a new attraction, land, or entire park like Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe, every tiny detail is thoughtfully planned out. In fact, one particular detail at the newly opened Epic Universe has touched guests so deeply that they’ve been leaving flowers as a token of respect.
Within the realm of Dark Universe, specifically the section reserved for the timeless Universal Monsters, you’ll come across a modest statue of a young girl, reminiscent of those you might find in a graveyard. Recently, Brandon Kleyla, an associate with Universal Creative, shared that he was responsible for placing this statue. Its design serves as a poignant memorial to the little girl who met her tragic end at the hands of Frankenstein’s Monster in the original film. From the reactions of fans on opening day of Epic Universe, it appears they have grasped its significance, as they were already leaving tokens of respect at the statue.

Based on the feedback on the post, I’ve noticed that flowers were being placed at the statue even during the previews of Epic Universe. It’s hard to tell exactly when this started, but it’s heartwarming to see so many people paying their respects with flowers, as if they were already visiting a grave. This touching gesture speaks volumes about the affection that fans appear to have for Dark Universe.
It’s no secret that this is fantastic news for Universal, considering Dark Universe was undeniably their most daring wager among the new theme park’s territories. The other zones, centered around Nintendo, How to Train Your Dragon, and Harry Potter’s Wizarding World, are all linked to contemporary, thriving franchises. In contrast, the Universal Monsters represent a nostalgic nod to the studio’s classic intellectual properties, but their revival into a modern franchise fell flat.
Even though the Universal Monsters may have originated years ago, they remain relevant and enduring. Their recurring presence during Halloween Horror Nights indicates a dedicated fan base within Universal Parks. Moreover, these iconic monsters are set to make an appearance at the upcoming Monsters Unleashed-themed venue opening in Las Vegas this year, further demonstrating their lasting appeal.
As a passionate admirer, I might have initially overlooked the intricacies of both the characters and the landscape within this captivating universe. However, it’s not hard to imagine that the very same enthusiasts who adore Isle of Berk and Harry Potter may find a less immediate connection with classics like Frankenstein and Dracula. But here’s where the allure of Dark Universe comes in – with its Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment ride, one of the finest attractions in Epic Universe. This thrilling journey has undeniably served as a magnet, drawing visitors into this realm. Upon arrival, they are treated to an unparalleled experience, engaging with some of the most remarkable characters in the park and discovering further enchanting details – like this breathtaking statue.
