Resident Alien Team Tees Up Season 4’s Time Jump & More: “There Are a Lot of Fuses That Were Lit…”

For Sara Tomko, who plays Asta Twelvetrees on Resident Alien, the term “cliffhanger” fails to encapsulate the numerous storylines that were left unresolved at the end of Season 3.

“It was [more] like a cliff-hangover,” she proclaimed during a Zoom call with USA Insider.

As a devoted admirer, let me share with you the words of Chris Sheridan, the creative genius behind our beloved series. He expressed something quite relatable: “You might recall that we left off many unresolved mysteries at the conclusion of Season 3.

In advance of the June 6 premiere on both USA Network and SYFY, here’s where you can encounter all the characters in Season 4: Sheridan and his ensemble graciously paved the way for us!

Resident Alien showrunner and cast set up Season 4

Chris Sheridan (creator/showrunner/executive producer):“At the start of the season, Harry is stranded on a Grey moon base with an evil Mantid alien possessing his body on Earth. Meanwhile, Asta is back on Earth. As a month has passed since the events occurred, Asta and D’arcy are still grappling with the aftermath. Having just returned from an extraordinary adventure at the end of Episode 8 in Season 3, they find themselves struggling to adjust to their lives post-moon base. The experience of being on the moon seems to have left them feeling a bit insignificant; they’re trying to find their footing again.

Simultaneously, Ben and Kate are on a quest to locate their missing baby. It appeared at the close of Season 3 that D’arcy would deliver the baby to them, but things didn’t go quite as planned. Thus, they continue their search for their child. Meanwhile, Mike and Liv have been investigating a series of enigmatic murders in Patience for a month now. Soon, it will be revealed that these crimes can be linked to an alien named Harry, who is disguised as Mantid in hiding.

Alice Wetterlund (D’arcy Bloom) expressed: “Everyone seems to meet on the spacecraft. We encounter one another in a spaceship, and it’s quite an experience, right? I return the baby to Earth, but I don’t hand the baby over to Kate because we discover that’s not the best place for the baby due to concerns about the Grey situation. Once we solve this problem, we believe, everyone will be safe, and then we can return the Hawthornes’ child.

Meredith Garretson (Kate Hawthorne): “I can’t recall the events on the ship, so I begin Season 4 thinking, ‘Alright, it seems they’ve abducted me once more. My task now is to get ready for the next abduction, hoping that when it happens, I can fight hard enough to retrieve my baby.’ Therefore, I’ve been gearing up for abduction, and that’s where we meet Kate in Season 4 – she believes her baby hasn’t been saved, is still on the ship, and she needs to grow strong enough to physically overcome whatever is taking her.

Elizabeth Bowen (Deputy Liv Baker): “I’ve found out that Peter Bach has returned, though not quite as we knew him before. Things get moving fast as I strive to keep him concealed while also providing for his well-being.

Corey Reynolds (as Sheriff Mike Thompson): “Many questions were left unanswered in the Season 3 finale for our characters. As we move into Season 4, from Mike’s point of view, he’s struggling to distinguish truth from illusion. His understanding of reality has been fractured in ways he’s been reluctant to acknowledge. However, when something consistently behaves like a duck, talks like a duck, and approaches you saying ‘Hey, buddy, I’m a duck,’ eventually, you’ll be forced to accept it as such.

That appears to be the last obstacle Mike must face. Changing someone’s perception of reality is tough, and in Season 4, all characters are grappling with this challenge. As I mentioned earlier, events have been set in motion and we’re witnessing their escalation towards a climax that promises to impress viewers as the season unfolds.
