In 2024, the game designer admitted that he had been extensively enjoying films such as “Past Lives”, “The Teachers’ Lounge”, “Dune: Part Two”, “All of Us Strangers”, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”, “La Chimera”, “Hit Man”, “Gondola”, “The Seed of the Sacred Fig”, “The Substance”, “The Holdovers”, and “Juror #2”. Impressed by the film’s worldbuilding, production design, costumes, lighting, use of shadows and smoke, and homage-style direction, Kojima considered it a work of art. Notably, he suggested that films in the classic gothic horror genre, such as “Nosferatu,” should be recognized as such.
