The Wrapp – Hedgehog card games, bird-based golf and yet another pretty gacha RPG

Hey there, welcome to our latest edition of The Wrapp.

Here’s my take on it in first-person perspective: “I’m excited to share our weekend gaming plans with you! The Pocket Gamer team is about to dive into a variety of games, and I hope this sneak peek gives you an idea of the unusual and exciting adventures we embark on when we’re not sharing the latest news and strategies. Who knows, you might even discover a new game that catches your fancy!

To celebrate Pride month, I plan on exploring games featuring Pride events, as well as titles developed by studios, creators, or individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community. I’m also on the lookout for games that focus on or prominently feature characters from this community. It should be intriguing to discover what’s out there, and I might just end up compiling a vibrant collection.

Happy Pride, everybody!

Resonating with Will’s feelings! Regrettably, it seems like my gaming time this weekend might be limited, but if I do find some spare moments, I’ll likely immerse myself in the Power Up Pride bundle on Humble. I’m truly looking forward to diving in, as the only bundled game I’ve previously played is A Normal Lost Phone. The Echoes of the Plum Grove sounds right up my alley (and incredibly cute), so I’ll either be busy harvesting and mining there, or sailing around the island of Elk in Welcome to Elk.

After returning from Barcelona following a successful Pocket Gamer Connects Barcelona event, I’ve spent my flight time engrossed in Suzerain. This experience has rekindled my ambition to complete the game’s premier league and then dive back into it again. I find myself captivated by the innovative leveling system they introduced post my initial play, and with enough time passing (since my last major playthrough), everything feels new and thrilling once more.

This coming weekend, I’ve got some tedious WordPress admin tasks piling up that I’ve been avoiding. Fortunately, Etheria: Restart has just been released to refresh my spirits, allowing me to dive right in. It seems reminiscent of Honkai: Star Rail, and I’m excited to discover if it could also crank up the heat on my mobile device.

By the way, during State of Play, we caught a glimpse of IO Interactive’s 007 First Light trailer, and let me tell you, I can hardly wait!

This coming weekend, I’ll delve into new regional releases, specifically Sonic Blitz. I’ve already gone through its introductory phase, and it’s sparked my curiosity, so I plan on spending the weekend exploring if it could be the next big thing like Pokémon TCG Pocket or Marvel Snap.

I’m considering trying out Etheria: Restart, but I’m worried it might consume my whole weekend. Luckily, Shaun is working on it, so I can wait for his feedback. That’s what teamwork is all about!

This weekend I’m entering a cat show with my fur baby, so I won’t have any time for gaming!

This weekend, I’ll be rather busy handling some personal matters, but I’ve managed to fit in some playtime with Jump King, which I’ve recently started exploring. Additionally, whenever I get a spare moment and feel like challenging my mind, there’s always Balatro on hand.

Among the new games launched this week, the one that piqued my interest is Super Flappy Golf. Now, I must confess that golf isn’t a sport I’m passionate about in reality. However, turn it into an arcade game, and my interest is piqued! So, if you’re thinking a mix of mini-golf and Flappy Bird, then you’ve got it spot on – that sounds right up my street!

In a departure from mobile games, I’ve just started playing Elden Ring: Nightreign. Initially uncertain about Elden Ring, having invested over 320 hours and achieved the Platinum trophy, it still draws me in. The roguelike aspect of Nightreign is what’s intriguing me, while the multiplayer aspect doesn’t appeal. So, I plan to give it a go solo first and see how things unfold, although I’m aware this may not align with the game’s intended design.
