‘Alert: Missing Persons Unit,’ ‘The Cleaning Lady’ Canceled at Fox

Fox has canceled its drama series Alert: Missing Persons Unit and The Cleaning Lady.

The announcements were made following the conclusion of both series during their 2024-25 seasons: “Alert” aired its final episode on May 27, while “The Cleaning Lady” ended on June 3. Both concluded their runs on Fox after completing their respective third and fourth seasons.

It’s not too shocking that the cancellations occurred, given that shows like “Alert” and “The Cleaning Lady” had lower ratings among Fox’s seasonal lineup. In terms of seven-day linear viewership (excluding streaming), “Alert” attracted an average of 2.16 million viewers and “The Cleaning Lady”, 1.68 million, which is significantly less than the audiences for renewed dramas such as “Doc” (4.6 million) and “Murder in a Small Town” (3.15 million). Similarly, Fox decided to cancel the first-year drama “Rescue: Hi-Surf” back in May.

Due to cancellations, Fox now has only two shows whose fates remain undecided. The animated series “The Great North” is currently airing over the summer, so a decision may take some time. As for the anthology drama “Accused”, Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn stated at the upfronts in May that there are no immediate plans for another season, but he left room for potential future episodes. Thorn expressed his fondness for the show and its creator, stating, “We adore the series and Howard Gordon. If a suitable opportunity arises in the future to produce a special event return, something that benefits us both, we would be thrilled to pursue it.

For the 2025-26 television season, Fox has commissioned two one-hour shows: “Best Medicine,” a remake of the popular British show “Doc Martin” featuring Josh Charles, and “Memory of a Killer,” a drama headlined by Patrick Dempsey. Additionally, they’ve ordered a limited series titled “The Faithful.

Attention: The Missing Persons Unit is a TV series co-produced by Sony Pictures TV and Fox Entertainment. Scott Caan leads the main cast. John Eisendrath and Jamie Foxx conceived and produced the show, alongside executive producers Carla Kettner, Jon Cowan, Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis, Sean Hennen, Datari Turner, and Brad Turner.

As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that the captivating series, “The Cleaning Lady,” features Elodie Yung in the leading role. This compelling production, jointly brought to you by Warner Bros. TV and Fox, is overseen by Daniel Cerone as showrunner, along with Timothy Busfield, Eddie Serrano, and Rose Marie Vega in executive roles.
