For the first time, actors Abhay Verma and Rasha Thadani are joining forces for Laikey Laikaa, which is Saurabh Gupta’s directorial debut. Known for his work on Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Gupta is now stepping into the director’s chair for this upcoming action movie. The film will showcase these promising young actors in significant roles, representing a new coupling among the emerging talents of Bollywood. In an exclusive interview with TopMob, Abhay Verma has revealed his inspiration from Hrithik Roshan as he embarks on shooting for the project.
During a recent chat with Pinvkilla, Abhay Verma spoke candidly about his role model, Hrithik Roshan. He expressed, “Going from being an extra in films to leading one within Phantom Studios feels like my life has completed its cycle. I’m experiencing two strong feelings at this moment. As I worked on Super 30, I secretly observed Hrithik Sir performing, learning every detail. Now, on the set of Laikey Laikaa, if someone might be stealthily watching me perform, I can only hope to serve as an inspiration to that person, just as I was inspired by Hrithik Sir.
Besides discussing his experience, the Munjya actor added, “I’d like to convey something more: this path serves as a response for those wrestling with questions about acceptance, wondering if their aspirations will materialize, or if their efforts will eventually bear fruit. I hope my story becomes a real-life testament to every aspiring actor in Mumbai, and to the uncertainties they harbor within.
In terms of professional collaborations, aside from Laikey Laikaa, Abhay Verma is joining forces with Rock On 2’s director, Shujaat Saudagar, and Shanaya Kapoor, who starred in Tu Yaa Main, for his upcoming venture.
Previously, Shujaat posted a picture on his Instagram stories that was taken on a movie set. The image shows someone’s hand holding a clapperboard with a date and the letters ‘JC’ visible. While the title of the film isn’t disclosed yet, it seems that ‘JC’ might be the working title for the project.
The filmmaker identified his main cast members, Shanaya Kapoor and Abhay Verma, in the post. Notably, they both reposted this snapshot on their individual Instagram accounts as well.
