‘MasterChef’ Host Gregg Wallace Fired as Over 50 People Come Forward With Fresh Claims

According to reports from the BBC, Gregg Wallace has been let go from his hosting role on the British cooking show MasterChef following an investigation into conduct concerns.

Over fifty individuals have come forward to share new accusations against Wallace, the British broadcaster, with incidents such as inappropriately touching a coworker and exposing himself to another individual being among them. However, Wallace, who is 60 years old, vehemently denies any misconduct.

Banijay U.K. stated earlier that Wallace was collaborating with their internal probe, following accusations from 13 individuals who claimed he made sexually inappropriate remarks towards colleagues over a span of 17 years.

Now, additional individuals are stepping forward. An independent law firm hired by Banijay is nearly finished with their investigation regarding the accusations against him, and it’s predicted that they will release their findings soon, as reported by the BBC.

Wallace admitted that occasionally his humor and choice of words were not suitable, and he sincerely apologizes for this. However, he wants to clarify that he was never the exaggerated version of himself portrayed for attention or clicks.

Wallace went on, alleging that BBC News opted for sensationalistic, defamatory content instead of providing unbiased news coverage. Moreover, he mentioned that his autism diagnosis during the filming of MasterChef was disregarded. “No effort was made to explore my disability or safeguard me from what I now understand was a potentially harmful setting for over two decades,” he concluded.

Another individual stated that during a meal prior to filming in the year 2002, Wallace slid his hand towards her groin area under the table and inquired, “Do you enjoy that?

In 2013, a university student shared with the BBC that she asked Wallace for a photo at a nightclub, but before the encounter, he allegedly reached up her skirt and inappropriately touched her bottom. Another individual claimed that in 2012, Wallace exposed himself to her without underwear. Furthermore, several men contacted the BBC to report incidents where they witnessed Wallace making sexually inappropriate comments.

A significant number of women who conversed with the BBC were young, independent workers and felt too apprehensive to voice their concerns regarding Wallace’s conduct earlier due to the possible risk of damaging their professional prospects.

Wallace has been a highly visible figure in Britain, presiding over a popular cooking program for more than twenty years, working alongside John Torode.

Over the past few years, there has been an increasing number of claims about inappropriate conduct by male staff members involved in Banijay or BBC productions. Notably, Russell Brand, currently under investigation for rape and sexual assault charges by the Metropolitan Police, is among these individuals.
