Actor previously known for his social media fame, Andrew Bachelor, is now teaming up with Shamier Anderson in the forthcoming satirical miniseries on Paramount+ and GameTV titled “Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story“.
In this scenario, Bachelor, famously known as King Bach, is set to portray U.S. sprinter Carl Lewis – a formidable competitor of Canadian Ben Johnson (portrayed by Anderson). Notably, Johnson was disgraced in 1988 when he dishonestly won the gold medal in the 100-meter final at the Seoul Olympics.
Achieved leading roles in various productions on Netflix; notably, he played a part in the comedy “Coffee and Kareem” alongside Taraji P. Henson, Ed Helms, and Betty Gilpin. Additionally, he featured in the horror sequel “The Babysitter: Killer Queen,” working with Jenna Ortega, and lent his talent to the romantic comedy “Holidate,” sharing the screen with Emma Roberts and Kristin Chenoweth.
During his time at Florida State University, the bachelor will leverage his personal experience as a sprinter and his athletic father’s background from Jamaica in his role. He admires Carl Lewis not only for his victories but also for his versatility in multiple events. The competition between Carl Lewis and Ben Johnson is one of the most famous rivalries in sports history. To have the opportunity to portray this story is a profound honor and a remarkable full-circle moment for him, as he expresses in a statement.
In 2026, a six-part series titled “The six-parter” will be broadcast on Paramount+ and GameTV in Canada. This production has also recruited actors Mark McKinney, Karen Robinson, Ennis Esmer, Kristian Bruun, Malaika Hennie Hamadi, Ryan Belleville, Darryl Hinds, Lisa Horner, Emma Hunter, Suresh John, Jonathan Langdon, Gita Miller, Andrew Phung and Dewshane Williams to join its star-studded cast, who were all previously part of the “Kids in the Hall” group.
