The British rock band Yungblud will soon be featured in a documentary titled “YUNGBLUD. ARE YOU READY, BOY?“, which is scheduled for a cinema release in August.
The documentary is set to trace Yungblud’s (also known as Dominic Harrison) journey at the iconic Hansa Studios in Berlin – a place that has seen David Bowie record “Heroes”, Iggy Pop create “Lust for Life” and U2 produce “Achtung Baby”. In this same studio, the artist will be performing live tracks from his recently released album “Idols”, which hit the shelves on June 20th.
Yungblud expressed his intention to create a film that authentically captures our current state, particularly during the launch of his most ambitious album yet. He noted that Berlin, with its raw and unadulterated truth, was the perfect setting for this project. Every visit to Hansa Studios left him in awe, as the studio exudes an iconic vibe. The history of the place is palpable; it’s there in the quiet pauses between takes, in the sense of grandeur from the towering ceiling above. Standing in such hallowed ground, he admits to questioning his identity and legacy: ‘Who am I? And what mark will I leave behind?’
Ready for it, mate? This upcoming music documentary is part of a growing trend as production studios focus more on content. Screenings are scheduled for August 20th and 24th, in collaboration with Trafalgar Releasing. Tickets will become available starting July 17th. The film was produced by Yungblud’s B.R.A.T. Productions, along with Aldgate Pictures.
Marc Allenby, Trafalgar’s CEO, is thrilled to reveal a remarkable portrait of an artist by esteemed director Paul Dugdale. He eagerly anticipates global audiences getting immersed in Yungblud’s life and music through this film on the cinema screen.
Paul Dugdale, known for his work on music documentaries such as “Adele: One Night Only” and “Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium”, has been selected to direct a new Yungblud documentary. Dugdale mentioned that they filmed the movie in that unique transition period between completing the album and its first public release, which he described as being set in a special twilight zone.
Dugdale expressed, “The instant prior to a release is always special for an artist, and it’s a fascinating era to capture since we can dive into it without any external distractions or pre-existing ideas. This freedom allowed us to create something untouched by the outside world, and there’s a lovely simplicity in that purity. We were able to spend time with Dom, isolated from any external judgment, and build a relationship from scratch on a completely blank slate.
