A new Blade rumor suggests how the MCU movie might tie into Mephisto and a Midnight Sons project.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe film titled Blade has been under production for quite some time now. Back in 2019 at San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige confirmed the project and announced Mahershala Ali as the main character. However, despite these announcements, the movie has yet to materialize.
In the grand scheme of things last year, I managed to slip into a brief, unaccredited role in Eternals, but as for my upcoming solo adventure as Blade, there’s no firm release date set yet.
What is the update on the MCU Blade movie?
For quite some time now, there have been whispers that the antagonist, Lilith, might first appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the movie Blade. As per insider Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus, it seems possible that Lilith’s presence could tie the film to Mephisto and the Midnight Sons.
According to Perez’s report, Lilith could become a significant contender or rival to Mephisto during the course of the “Damnation” events.
In a captivating limited series by Donny Cates and Nick Spencer for Marvel Comics, the storyline unfolds where Mephisto, portrayed by Sacha Baron Cohen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, seizes control over the vibrant city of Las Vegas. Following the transformation of the Avengers into beings reminiscent of Ghost Riders, the world’s last chance against Mephisto lies with the Midnight Sons, a formidable team that is brought together by Wong in an effort to thwart this ominous threat.
As reported by Perez, it’s speculated that Marvel may develop the Damnation storyline, eventually leading to a film known as “The Midnight Sons.” However, this is currently just a rumor, so take it with a bit of skepticism. If this happens, the upcoming MCU Blade movie could potentially pave the way for this narrative, since Blade was among the founding members of The Midnight Sons.
At present, Marvel Studios hasn’t provided any details about the plot for Blade, so everything we’re discussing here is merely speculative and based on guesswork.
