Guy Ritchie Exits as Director of Amazon’s ‘Road House 2’

Guy Ritchie has exited as the director Amazon MGM Studios‘ sequel movie Road House 2.

Jake Gyllenhaal is preparing to reappear on screen following his role in the 2024 remake of the film “Road House,” directed by Doug Liman. In this latest adaptation, Gyllenhaal portrays Dalton, a former UFC contender who accepts a position as a bouncer at a roadside bar situated in the Florida Keys.

As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the talented screenwriter Will Beall, known for his work on “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” and “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” is now crafting the script for “Road House 2.” The esteemed production houses involved include Atlas Entertainment, spearheaded by Charles Roven and Alex Gartner, as well as Nine Stories Productions, helmed by Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin. It’s an exciting development for Road House fans like myself!

The “Road House” series began with a 1989 film directed by Rowdy Herrington, which featured Patrick Swayze as the main character.

More to come.
