The partnership between Amsterdam’s renowned streetwear brand Patta and sportswear giant Nike is still growing, breaking new ground in footwear design. Following the popular release of their “Wave” Air Max 90 collaborations, Patta co-founder Edson Sabajo has given a sneak peek at their upcoming project with Nike: the eagerly awaited Patta x Nike Air Max DN8. This early reveal, posted by Sabajo on Instagram, hints at a high-quality and unique interpretation of Nike’s latest Air technology.

2025 saw Nike unveil the Air Max DN8, boasting their innovative Dynamic Air technology running the length of the shoe. This is accomplished using eight pressurized Air tubes for enhanced cushioning, flow, sensation, and motion. Patta’s rendition of this advanced design offers a sophisticated, elevated look to the performance-centric model. The Air Max DN8 by Patta instantly catches the eye with its premium material selection. Most of the upper and tongue are adorned with lustrous patent leather, offering a luxurious and attention-grabbing sheen that transcends the shoe’s regular construction. This opulence is contrasted by grey mesh panels on the sides, which provide breathability and textural complexity. The toebox, a deviation from tradition, is equipped with perforated leather, highlighting Patta’s focus on detail and craftsmanship.

The collaboration between Patta and Nike features understated yet powerful branding elements that emphasize its authenticity. A carabiner from Patta adorns the shoelaces, implying a practical or adventurous theme in the design. The shoe’s appearance is further enhanced by a two-tone black and silver Max Air-cushioned midsole, demonstrating its advanced shock absorption system. Additionally, a blue nylon lace loop adds a pop of color to the otherwise dark and metallic color scheme. Though no official release date or in-depth background story for the Patta x Nike Air Max DN8 has been revealed by either party yet, Edson Sabajo’s teaser assures us it will be available soon. It is expected that this collaboration will become available towards the end of 2025.
