A fresh trailer for the new “Fantastic Four: First Steps” has unveiled the immense scale of Galactus in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster. Eagerly anticipated for years, Marvel’s original team, commonly known as The Fantastic Family, will grace Marvel Studios with their presence in the forthcoming movie, accompanied by the legendary comic book villain Galactus. In this adaptation, the mighty cosmic being will be brought to life through the voice of “Game of Thrones” actor Ralph Ineson, signifying the doom for an alternate Earth inhabited by the Fantastic Four.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Galactus is introduced as one of the most colossal characters ever shown in the series. In the comics, this character has a reputation for altering its size significantly, becoming taller than entire planets at times before reducing itself to a more manageable kaiju size upon arrival on Earth. The exact scale of Galactus in the MCU has been kept under wraps through marketing for “Fantastic Four 2025,” but a recent video appears to have shed some light on this matter.
The freshly released trailer for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, “Fantastic Four,” provided viewers with a glimpse into the colossal scale of the character Galactus.
In the recently released 60s-inspired trailer for First Steps, viewers caught another sneak peek of Ralph Ineson’s colossal antagonist. But this viewing offered a bit more information, hinting at the towering height of this imposing villain.
In a single scene, the peak of Galactus appears within the window of the Fantastic Four’s operational headquarters, the Baxter Building.
In simpler terms, we can say that this indicates the character, on Earth at least, will be as tall as the famous Marvel Comics location, which is usually depicted as having 35 floors. Since a typical floor is between 10 to 14 feet high, Galactus would be roughly around 450 feet tall when he starts causing chaos in New York City.
Indeed, the character’s appearance is expected to alter at different moments throughout the movie, a fact that fans have already noticed from the trailers showing him concealing vast areas of New York City in shadows. However, when he stands on solid ground, it seems he will be approximately as big as the Baxter Building.
The Fantastic Four: Initial Ventures
In this movie, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach portray the principal team of Marvel’s heroes known as The Fantastic Four. Directed by Matt Shakman from WandaVision, the story follows the quartet as their Earth faces peril from Galactus, a colossal intergalactic force infamous for consuming entire planets. The film debuts in theaters on July 25.

Just How Big Can Galactus Get?
Although Galactus may appear as a towering skyscraper when he initially appears in New York City, it doesn’t necessarily imply that he will maintain this size throughout the entirety of “Fantastic Four: First Steps”.
In the comic books, the character is often depicted as altering his size on occasion, making celestial bodies appear toy-like. This transformation is facilitated through the Power Cosmic, an enigmatic cosmic force that allows entities to harness diverse superpowers.
The largest a comic book character has ever grown was approximately as vast as a solar system, occurring during the initial run of the 1990s’ “Infinity Gauntlet” series.
Although it appears doubtful that “First Steps” would reach such a colossal scale, there’s a strong possibility that viewers might witness the character expanding to the dimensions of a Cosmic Entity (a phenomenon observed within the franchise previously).
This perspective would make the character’s face or figure dominate the entire landscape, as if looking down from above on the inhabitants of Earth.
