For the past few years, it’s been challenging to attend a major movie premiere without being surrounded by popcorn buckets. Each blockbuster movie features at least one themed popcorn container, and they seem to become increasingly detailed and elaborate with each release. However, if you’re a theme park enthusiast, the game of collecting these popcorn buckets is nothing new.
For a while now, collectible popcorn containers have been quite popular at Disney and Universal theme parks, much like the ones you find in cinemas. Some of these containers are incredibly imaginative, others are beautifully themed, and yet others are downright cute. However, the latest Jurassic World Rebirth bucket at Universal Orlando Resort is both adorable and somewhat questionable in my opinion.
In a playful rewording:
The freshly unveiled popcorn container for Jurassic World: Rebirth is an adorable mini T. Rex with oversized jaws that snap open and shut, allowing you to stuff popcorn inside. It’s a fun popcorn bucket indeed, but it seems peculiar to advertise it as part of the Jurassic World: Rebirth collection since those dinosaurs are far more fearsome and authentic-looking compared to this rather cartoony figure. It would be fitting on a shelf alongside the recent Super Nintendo World Bob-omb container, but not so much for a thrilling dinosaur movie experience.
The real popcorn bucket from “Jurassic World: Rebirth” shown in theaters, sports a dinosaur hatchery that looks more authentic to me, which seems fitting for this specific movie. It’s quite puzzling to opt for a bucket associated with the film’s release and then not align it well with the visual style of the film itself.
I appreciate the quality of this popcorn bucket, but it would fit better at a different theme park. In fact, I can envision this specific bucket being sold at the Universal Kids Resort opening in Texas next year. This park will feature a Jurassic World land, which is intended to be more family-oriented. Under such circumstances, a cartoonish T-Rex popcorn bucket would be quite appropriate.
I’d be entirely unsurprised if this popcorn bucket makes an appearance once again at Universal Kids Resort upon its reopening. In fact, it wouldn’t strike me as odd in the least if this bucket were specifically tailored for that park, given its unique design and the potential popularity among Jurassic World fans eagerly awaiting the new film.
As a cinephile, I can’t guarantee that it’s an exceptional “Rebirth” popcorn tub, but let me tell you, it’s an exhilarating “Jurassic World” tub if you’re interested! If this selection doesn’t tickle your fancy, don’t fret, there are plenty more exciting options on the horizon.
