However, I’ve noticed quite a few fellow TCG fans struggling to lay their hands on the starter decks freshly released. It’s not merely the scalpers causing the trouble; it’s Bandai’s unique distribution strategies that are making these cards elusive.
Where can I find the Gundam Card Game in stock?
A challenge in acquiring Gundam Card Game products is that they aren’t sold at large retail chains or popular online marketplaces like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, GameStop, Amazon, and so on. Consequently, you won’t find the Gundam Trading Card Game (TCG) in these places right now. However, there’s a possibility that the game will be made available at those locations in the future. At this moment, the distribution is limited to stores that are part of Bandai TCG+ program.
To locate a stocked Gundam Trading Card Game, simply visit the Bandai TCG+ store locator and input your region and state or province or prefecture. With approximately 2,888 Bandai TCG+ stores in the U.S. alone, you’re bound to be near at least one retailer offering the Gundam Card Game.
What Gundam Card Game products are available?
On July 11th, the Gundam Card Game was officially unveiled, however, only the initial starter packs were made available on that date. The first full set, titled Newtype Rising, won’t be released until July 25th. Currently, the following products are accessible for purchase:
- Heroic Beginnings (ST01) Starter Deck
- Wings of Advance (ST02) Starter Deck
- Zeon’s Rush (ST03) Starter Deck
- Seed Strike (ST04) Starter Deck
It’s worth mentioning that there are both standard and special versions available, each containing three Gundam Assemble models. Preliminary information suggests that the special editions might be scarce, with some fans only receiving one or the other variation.
If you can’t get your hands on any starting decks right now, don’t worry too much about it. Bandai hasn’t suggested that this is a limited item (unlike certain Gunpla), so there’s a good chance they will ship more in the near future.
