In 2026, “Avengers: Doomsday” promises an unique sense of camaraderie as it features numerous sets of Marvel Cinematic Universe siblings within its star-studded cast. Apart from Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Doctor Doom, the movie’s ensemble boasts a rich mix of MCU veterans and fresh talents hailing from various dimensions, allowing viewers to witness heroes who share bonds beyond just the battlefield.
The upcoming movie, “Avengers: Doomsday,” is set to include a total of four sibling pairs among its cast, as well as numerous characters who have significant siblings within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Currently, only 27 actors have been confirmed for the film, but it’s expected that multiple family members will team up in the MCU’s fifth big team-up event.
Every Pair of Siblings Confirmed & Rumored for Avengers: Doomsday
Sue & Johnny Storm
Without a doubt, the most renowned siblings in Marvel lore hail from Marvel’s Founding Team, the Fantastic Four – Sue and Johnny Storm. This brother-sister duo will first grace the MCU stage in “The Fantastic Four: First Footsteps“, with Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn stepping into their roles following their integration under the Marvel Studios banner.
In the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday,” this twosome is set to make their appearance on Earth-616, joining forces with Reed Richards (played by Pedro Pascal) and Ben Grimm (portrayed by Ebon Moss-Bachrach), the Mightiest Heroes of Earth. Given their strong sibling connection and prior experience as superheroes, they are poised to become a powerful duo within this expansive universe.
Thor & Loki
Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston have been the original sibling duo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since they first appeared as Thor Odinson and Loki Laufeyson in 2011’s “Thor.” Together, they have starred in six Marvel Studios films so far, and they will reunite for their seventh collaboration in “Avengers: Doomsday.
Thor, fresh from his role in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” where he adopted the child named Love, while Loki has assumed the position of the God of Stories following the second season of his show, thus maintaining the chronologies of various universes. The manner in which they reconnect is largely unknown, but it’s certain to evoke a range of feelings given that it’s been quite some time since they last interacted while both were alive.
Shuri (T’Challa)
Emerging from the secluded nation of Wakanda are the sibling duo who starred in Black Panther: Letitia Wright as Shuri and Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa. The two appeared together on screen in three movies (Black Panther, the last two Avengers films), until Boseman’s untimely death in 2020, which resulted in his character being written out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by having him killed off.
It has been confirmed that Evangeline Lilly will return to her character in Avengers: Doomsday, teaming up with Winston Duke’s M’Baku within the film’s Wakandan group. There have even been whispers suggesting Marvel might consider recasting T’Challa, potentially setting the stage for a remarkable family reunion if this hypothetical scenario materializes during Phase 6.
Shang-Chi (Xialing)
In the movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” Simu Liu’s character Xu Shang-Chi and Meng’er Zhang’s character Xu Xialing, who are the offspring of Tony Leung’s Mandarin, were introduced to viewers. The film concluded with Shang-Chi joining the Avengers, while an unexpected twist had Xialing assuming leadership of the Ten Rings organization.
At the moment, it’s only confirmed that Liu will be part of the cast for Avengers: Doomsday, marking Shang-Chi’s debut in an Avengers film to conclude Phase 6. Although Xialing seems unlikely to feature in this blockbuster collaboration, fans eagerly look forward to her return as they speculate about her role within the MCU’s evolving storyline.
Yelena (Natasha)
Scarlett Johansson has been a seasoned actor within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), debuting her memorable character Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in 2010’s “Iron Man 2.” Later, she joined forces with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, portrayed as her adoptive sister, in the 2021 film “Black Widow.” This collaboration paves the way for Florence to assume the central role of Black Widow within the MCU going forward.
As I stand here, excitedly looking forward, it’s me who’ll once more take on Pugh’s iconic role in “Doomsday,” leading a new ensemble of heroes now recognized as the New Avengers. This upcoming journey promises to be my grandest adventure yet. Regrettably, it seems Scarlett Johansson may not return as Natasha Romanoff, but we fans are keeping our fingers crossed for another thrilling on-screen reunion of this beloved duo.
BONUS: Nightcrawler (Rogue)
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe film “Doomsday”, Alan Cumming joins the cast, having previously won over fans as Kurt Wagner, more famously known as Nightcrawler, in the 2003 movie “X2”. In comic books and other media, Nightcrawler shares a biological connection with Rogue from the X-Men, as their mothers are Mystique, played by Raven Darkhölme.
In none of the X-Men films was the relationship between Anna Paquin’s character (Rogue) and other characters delved into, but enthusiastic fans are eagerly anticipating her return for the upcoming film featuring Doomsday. If she appears alongside Cumming in this movie, it would present an opportunity to delve into their dynamic, serving as a tribute to fans who are well-versed in the X-Men saga’s character histories.
