Update: Nike Basketball has gradually reintroduced Kobe Bryant’s iconic shoes in Protro style, except for the Kobe 3, which was speculated to return last year as the next model. Now, images of the anticipated Kobe 3 Protro have surfaced unofficially. Although Nike has not released any official specifications yet, this early prototype comes with a pamphlet detailing its performance enhancements. The upper features an upgraded mesh design along with new padding on the tongue. The sole unit includes a full-length Zoom Air Strobel combined with Cushlon 3.0 foam and enhanced grip. As previously mentioned, it will make its debut as the third annual “Halo” release, available at Nike SNKRS and select retailers on August 23 for $210 USD.

It appears that a full comeback of the Nike Kobe brand is looking likely now. For several years, Nike Basketball has been re-introducing iconic designs and color schemes from the collection, ever since they renewed their collaboration.

Following the comeback of the Kobe 9 Elite Protro, trusted sources such as zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files suggest that the Kobe 3 Protro will be the next model to reappear. This distinctive shoe is rumored to be part of the brand’s continuous “Halo” series featuring all-white colorways, boasting three layers of “White” according to early information. Although we haven’t seen the actual sneaker yet, the image above offers a likely representation of its design.

As of now, there is no official announcement from Nike Basketball that the Kobe 3 Protro will make a comeback in 2025. Also, they haven’t shared specifics about future plans for the “Halo” series of colorways. Keep an eye out for updates as we anticipate this rumored pair to be released on August 23, 2025, which coincides with the late Kobe Bryant’s birthday. The shoe is expected to hit Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $240 USD.
