The Academy Museum of Cinematic Arts plans to celebrate Bruce Springsteen, Penélope Cruz, Bowen Yang, and Walter Salles at its fifth annual charity event, taking place on October 18th.
At the upcoming event, Bruce Springsteen will be honored with the first-ever Legacy Award. This prestigious honor is bestowed upon artists whose extensive collection of work has served as a source of inspiration for countless storytellers and significantly shaped culture. On the other hand, Cruz will receive the Icon Award, an accolade that acknowledges an artist whose career has left a substantial global impact.
Bruce Springsteen is getting the first-ever Legacy Award because his music has inspired many artists and changed culture over the years. Cruz is getting the Icon Award since their career has made a big difference around the world.

Sally will receive the Luminary Award, which is presented to an artist whose work has significantly broadened the artistic horizons within the realm of cinema.
Both Springsteen and Cruz have won Oscars, and Yang is a member of the award-winning Wicked cast, with its sequel, For Good, scheduled to premiere in theaters on November 21st.
