According to observations made by DCU Prime TV’s user DC, DC Comics has recently updated the branding for four of its most prominent superheroes after the debut of Superman.
The corporation has given a fresh, updated appearance to the branding pages associated with characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and Green Lantern. Each character now showcases a revamped version of their iconic symbols as profile pictures.
It’s uncertain at this point if these changes relate to James Gunn’s DC Universe, but since these four DC properties have been identified as key components of his upcoming on-screen franchise, it’s possible that these modifications are part of a bigger strategy for shaping the characters’ future in the DC Universe.
James Gunn’s DC Universe officially commenced with the cinema release of the movie “Superman” on July 11. This new production features David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and Rachel Brosnahan in what is being called the initial appearance of the revamped DC franchise, offering viewers a fresh perspective on the popular comic book universe. Following the release of “Superman”, “Peacemaker” Season 2 is scheduled for August 21, with “Lanterns”, “Supergirl”, and “Clayface” all set to debut next year.

Batman
Batman’s latest logo design maintains the iconic curved bat symbol, a familiar sight for movie enthusiasts from the 1989 film “Batman,” but introduces a rugged yellow backdrop as a tribute to his authentic and gritty approach to crime-fighting. This color choice mirrors the worn appearance of concrete, reflecting Batman’s character.
At DC Studios, Batman has multiple productions underway, some within the DCU and others outside of it. The sequel to Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”, titled simply “The Batman Part II”, is scheduled for release in October 2027. Meanwhile, James Gunn plans to share his unique interpretation of the Dark Knight through the upcoming film “The Brave and the Bold”. Wonder Woman
One potential rephrasing could be: Among the names gaining popularity in discussions about the DC Universe, Wonder Woman stands out prominently. Her distinctive golden “WW” emblem, accompanied by a vibrant red and blue backdrop reminiscent of her iconic comic book attire, is a common sight online, symbolizing her significant online presence as the Amazonian heroine.
Initially, Gunn chose to develop a TV series centered around Diana (Diana-adjacent TV series, Paradise Lost) instead of a Wonder Woman movie for the DCU lineup. However, recent reports suggest that the tides have turned, and a live-action Wonder Woman film is now being expedited at Warner Bros., implying that we should keep an eye on this iconic character in the upcoming years.
Green Lantern
Among the four characters introduced in these latest updates, Green Lantern stands out as having the upcoming DC Universe project that is closest at hand. While Guy Gardner, one of Earth’s Lanterns, made his DCU debut in James Gunn’s Superman, two other Green Lanterns, John Stewart and Hal Jordan, are set to star in their own DC Studios project titled Lanterns next year.
In the updated Green Lantern identity, the classic lantern symbol has been given a modern twist with a polished steel appearance. Encompassing the logo is a vibrant green glow that resembles a lantern’s light, while the background showcases more steel accents veiled in an emerald green hue.
Harley Quinn
Lastly, let me add that Harley Quinn’s official brand page underwent a transformation as well. The iconic four-diamond logo has been given a fresh interpretation. Unlike before, where there were three black diamonds and a single red diamond on one side, the revamped official logo now only consists of three black diamonds set against a red backdrop, with the red symbol being eliminated entirely.
Harley Quinn doesn’t have any confirmed upcoming projects within the DC Universe at the moment. Yet, just last week, the fifth season of her adult-oriented animated series premiered, suggesting that there might be a chance for it to continue.
