With a Jordan capsule, large-scale murals depicting basketball scenes and numerous artworks inspired by basketball under her name, Nina Chanel Abney is not new to the basketball scene. Supported by Perrotin, this artist is further expanding on this theme with a fresh collaboration in vinyl toys with AllRightsReserved from Hong Kong. This collaboration, called Bravo, acknowledges the everyday hero – the player who consistently scores at the local recreation center or neighborhood court, reminiscent of classic Starting Lineup action figures.

A frozen action shot in mid-air, the figure holds a vibrant orange basketball aloft, all rendered in Abney’s distinctive, cubist-influenced style. Characterized by rose-speckled cheeks, angular limb bends, and blocks of bold color, this 15-inch tall sculpture wears red shorts and white sneakers with black X’s, evoking memories of the everyday athlete – a relative, neighbor, or friend who played basketball like a pro.

Accompanied by an autograph at its base, the Bravo vinyl figure arrives adorned with white gloves and carefully boxed in a unique container decorated with Abney’s artwork motifs. This exclusive, limited-edition item can be purchased on the artist’s Super Cool Studios website for $350 USD.
