On December 19, 2025, Disney’s movie titled “Avatar: Fire and Ash” will hit the screens. This is the third installment in the ongoing Avatar series by James Cameron, where we delve into a new Na’vi culture residing on the planet Pandora.

This week, there have been whispers about the possible premiere of the movie’s first preview during the launch of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Although it hasn’t been verified yet, the leak of the trailer online suggests it might indeed happen.

The leaked preview displays assorted scenes depicting life on Pandora, similar to the initial two Avatar movies, then focuses on the storyline of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and his family’s migration to a fresh location post the occurrences in 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water. This narrative concludes with Neteyam, the son of Jake and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña).

In the trailer, we get our initial glimpse into the “Ash Folk,” a fresh tribe of Na’vi characters who are set to take center stage in the upcoming movie.

In a new twist, Avatar: Fire and Ash is once again helmed by director James Cameron, this time in collaboration with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver on the screenplay. The star-studded cast features familiar faces such as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, Edie Falco, and others.

Previously, Cameron expressed that the forthcoming sequel will delve into cultures distinct from those previously depicted. He referred to these new inhabitants as the ‘Ash People.’ To offer a fresh perspective on the Na’vi, he has chosen to portray them from an alternative angle, having only showcased their positive aspects thus far.

Initially, the early movies show quite negative human characters contrasted with very positive Na’vi ones,” he added. “However, in Avatar 3, we plan to flip that. We’ll delve into new environments as well, while advancing the story of our main characters. I can assure you that the final installments will be the most captivating. The previous ones were more like a setup, preparing the stage for the main event.
