- Riftbusters will arrive for iOS and Android on September 3rd
- It promises to be an accessible entry point to the looter shooter genre
- With a lovely cartoonish art style, this could be one to watch
Global launch date for the action RPG developed by Finnish studio Phantom Gamelabs, titled Riftbusters, has been set for September 3rd on both iOS and Android platforms. Pre-registration is currently open for those eager to play ahead of the release. The game garnered attention during its open beta phase last year, generating a positive response in anticipation of its full debut.
It’s quite clear why looter shooters are profitable; they appeal to a lot of gamers due to the ongoing quest for superior weapons and equipment. This pursuit often resonates deeply with players, even if the improvement in their character is minimal. However, that small improvement still brings a sense of fulfillment.
As a gamer, if you’re into quick, bite-sized gaming sessions without the heavy details, you’ll love what Phantom Gamelabs has to offer. Unlike other games in this genre, they’re aiming for a more accessible approach, stripping down some of the intricate elements that are typically part of the experience. For some, this might be seen as a drawback. However, I believe it makes for an inviting starting point, particularly on mobile devices where you might just want to play a few missions whenever you have a spare moment.
Mo.co: Rising
Aside from the somewhat vague term that is ‘accessible’, everything else here is what you’d expect. You’ll charge into battle with other players, working together to take down numerous alien beasties using your various weapons and skills. Outside of that, you can expect to upgrade your arsenal, unlock new abilities and then tweak your preferred build.
From the trailer displayed, you’ll notice a playful, somewhat Fortnite-resembling visual style that is currently in vogue. Additionally, I get a whiff of Mo.Co-like elements from it, both belonging to similar genres. Therefore, Riftbusters may face significant competition, especially with Destiny: Rising set to release soon.
Globally, the Riftbusters app will be available for download on both the App Store and Google Play starting September 3rd. If you’re eager to get started, use the buttons provided below for pre-registration on your chosen platform.
