Snoop Dogg follows in the footsteps of Ryan Reynolds with Swansea City buy-in

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney deserve recognition for the recent success of Snoop Dogg’s venture. The duo, who are also known by their names, acquired a significant stake in the Welsh soccer team Wrexham back in 2020 (the deal was finalized in February 2021). When they bought the club in 2021, they invested £2 million. Remarkably, the value of the team has since soared to a staggering £150 million.

Essentially, investing in a soccer team, particularly one that may not be performing optimally within the English league system, can yield substantial profits. Snoop Dogg excels not only in creating music, but also in business. He possesses a keen understanding of profit-making strategies and practices fiscal responsibility.

In the footsteps of Reynolds and Mac, Snoop Dogg has recently acquired a minority stake in Swansea City, a team based in Wales. Similar to Wrexham, Swansea City competes in the second tier of English football, known as the Championship, which is one level below the Premier League.

Snoop Dogg and Ryan Reynolds set to go head to head in English Championship football

Rapper Snoop Dogg has just become an investor in a soccer club, joining forces with Luka Modric. Notably, this club is primarily owned by Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen. The specific amount invested by Snoop Dogg hasn’t been disclosed yet, but what he brings to the table is a substantial social media following.

A renowned figure in hip-hop culture boasts almost 200 million followers across social media platforms. Notably, the duo Mac and Reynolds expanded Wrexham, beyond their ownership and the team’s subsequent achievements, by leveraging social media and the FX show, “Welcome to Wrexham.” Given this strategy’s proven success, it wouldn’t be unexpected if Snoop Dogg participated in some form of media venture.

It’s going to be entertaining to see how American and Canadian celebrities, who have significant stakes in both Welsh championship teams, engage with each other. Their playful rivalry could generate headlines on both continents, with the rapper apparently starting a feud already.

On July 14th, prior to the official announcement of his minority ownership, Snoop Dogg participated in revealing Swansea City’s new uniform. In an Instagram post, Snoop Dogg and the club wrote, “It’s Nothing But a Wales Thing, the Jacks are prepared. We’re the Pride of Wales,” tagging Ryan Reynolds and Wrexham in the post.
