It’s been hinted that a character from the series “WandaVision,” played by Elizabeth Olsen, could show up in “Avengers: Doomsday.” However, neither Olsen nor any other cast members from the enchanting “WandaVision” ensemble have been confirmed to be part of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe team-up. Still, fans are excitedly guessing about possible appearances by Scarlet Witch (Olsen’s character) or Vision (played by Paul Bettany).
In terms of discussions about characters from the TV series “WandaVision”, director Joe Russo’s cryptic statement back in March was the only one we heard, saying simply “we will see”. However, fresh speculations point towards at least one unexpected hero from this enchanting Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) show appearing in “Avengers 5”. Contrary to what many might anticipate, it’s not who you would typically expect.
During a recent TikTok live chat hosted by Daily Joe Locke, famed stage actor Steven Sater hinted that the character Billy Maximoff from WandaVision could potentially appear in Avengers: Endgame’s sequel, Avengers: Doomsday.
During the interview, Sater was questioned about actor Joe Locke, his mentee for quite some time. In response, the award-winning star, Sater, mentioned that he didn’t get a chance to meet up with Locke during his recent visit to London, as Locke is currently working on a Marvel film.
I didn’t get a chance to talk to him because he’s been incredibly busy with Marvel and Heartstopper projects, and there’s a play of his on the West End that my friends are producing. Given how packed his schedule is, I figured it was best not to bother him.
In the 2024 film “Agatha All Along,” Locke gave new life to an older Billy. However, there’s no official confirmation that Locke will appear in any upcoming Marvel movies, which makes his potential future roles even more captivating.
At present, only one Marvel Cinematic Universe film, tentatively titled “Avengers: Doomsday“, is being produced and filmed in London, England. This could possibly be the “Marvel movie” that Sater mentioned.
Marvel Studios or Locke has not commented on Sater’s quotes.
The movie titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is set to deliver an extraordinary gathering of superhero teams. Unlike previous Avengers films where characters from various Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) histories united to combat a shared adversary, “Doomsday” promises to bring together these iconic heroes, fresh characters introduced since the last Avengers film, and even figures from Fox’s X-Men universe.
The movie titled “Doomsday” is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, and it is directed by the duo Joe and Anthony Russo who previously worked on “Captain America: Civil War.” In this upcoming film, Earth’s strongest superheroes will engage in a fierce battle against their most formidable adversary yet – Victor Von Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., who travels across different universes.
Will Billy Maximoff Be in Avengers: Doomsday?
Fans are eagerly awaiting news about when they might see Joe Locke’s character as the spell-casting superhero Wiccan again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following his debut in Agatha All Along last year.
As a passionate film enthusiast, it appears that my hunch about Locke securing his next Marvel venture (as suggested by Steven Sater) might just be spot on. If the whispers are correct and his in-universe mother, Wanda/the Scarlet Witch, is indeed written off during this story arc, it would certainly be intriguing to see Locke make an appearance in the upcoming Avengers film.
A magic user is a valuable asset to have on any Avengers team, and Locke’s Wiccan fits the bill.
As a film enthusiast, I find it intriguing to ponder the potential implications of an upcoming Young Avengers team at Marvel Studios. If the seeds for this teenage superhero squad are being sown, it could be that the stage is set in “Doomsday,” where my character intersects with Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel.
