‘In the End, Everything Will Be Okay’ With ‘Money Heist’ Star Esther Acebo Boarded by Citizen Skull (Exclusive)

Based in Los Angeles, Citizen Skull Productions has taken on “In the End, Everything Will Be Alright,” which is the second movie from the talented Spanish director, Néstor Ruiz Medina.

The Hollywood Reporter may as well share images captured on set while filming takes place in multiple locations throughout Spain, such as Cuenca, Madrid, and Cádiz.

This movie features actors who have worked with Medina before, such as Esther Acebo from “Money Heist,” who played Stockholm in the popular Netflix show, Roberto Manrique known for “Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso,” María Lázaro from “21 Positions,” Alex Sorian Brown, known by his roles in “Evan Wood” and “Hour and Twenty,” Álvaro Manso from “30 Monedas,” Nüll García of “Punto Nemo,” Elena Zurita from “Islas,” and Ana Ruano who appeared in “Breathless” and “El Ser Querido.

Participating in this project signifies a significant milestone for Citizen Skull as they strive to strengthen their influence in Europe. As expressed by owner and producer MarkMyers, “Citizen Skull is thrilled to be part of this venture and looks forward to further expanding its reach within the European market.

The movie weaves together the tales of multiple main characters: Enrique, a 70-year-old man threatened with eviction from his boat; his niece Paloma, who places her daughter with him while she attends a spiritual retreat in an attempt to organize her turbulent life; Víctor, Paloma’s former partner, who takes care of the elderly and resides with Blanca, a popular social media personality concealing certain truths; and Santiago, a homeless individual from the Furry community, struggling to save his ailing dog Rubio.

As a gamer, I stumbled upon an intriguing project at the Marché du Film, which seemed like a golden chance to broaden our reach in the Spanish market with a narrative that deeply resonates with its roots, but is also designed for global spectators. This is according to Tonja Rene, the producer and manager at Citizen Skull.

As a gamer, I’d say: “This movie is brought to you by the creative minds at Mono con Pistolas, Sorenfilms, and Hackeo Productions, with significant support from local and regional governments, like the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha and the Diputación de Cuenca. They’ve got my back on this one!

Medina, whose feature debut was 21 Positions, is a two-time Goya nominee for his short films.

He shared that filming in Cuenca, his family’s hometown, holds deep significance for him. Alongside this, we are capturing scenes in Cádiz where he currently resides and Madrid, where he was raised. This blend of locations allows us to step away from the typical filming sites like Barcelona or the Canary Islands. It’s more than just a change of scenery; it’s an effort to promote the expansion of Spanish cinema beyond its traditional centers.

Citizen Skull has just completed the direction of “Serena Y,” a short film by the Italian filmmaker Francesco Cocco that blends Spanish and American cultures. This project is among several others being developed as part of their strategic focus on Europe.

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement as “In the End, Everything Will Be Okay” is all set to complete its main filming by late September! It’s set to hit our screens later this year, and I couldn’t be more eager to witness the magical moments unfold on the big screen.
