Wildling Pictures and MXN Entertainment, based in Toronto and Los Angeles respectively, have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that director Dorfman has selected her main actors for the upcoming project. These actors are Matisse Phillippe, daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, and Morelos, who is popularly known from ‘That ’90s Show’.

Laura Dean frequently breaks up with her. The tale unfolds as Freddie embarks on a quest to gather the courage to escape from this toxic relationship, rediscover her self-worth, and is supported by her closest friends and a psychic along the way.

Dorfman stated about the casting: “During our search for Freddie, Sam entered the room embodying a grounded, eccentric, and timeless character that captured all of Freddie’s magic, compassion, and artistic talent. From that moment, it was evident that she was the perfect choice to breathe life into this story.

Just like Ava’s natural charm in portraying Laura Dean and the strong acting connection they shared, working with these two promising talents on my second movie is a dream come true.

Good Girl Productions, the new production company launched by Dorfman, has joined forces with Wildling Pictures and MXN Entertainment as co-producers for an upcoming film. This innovative company aims to produce stories that broaden our understanding of human experiences, making us more empathetic in the process. In a strategic partnership, Good Girl Productions is collaborating with Tricky Knot, a financing and development firm within the entertainment industry. Through this collaboration, Tricky Knot will co-finance the film “Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me” alongside Dorfman’s banner.

Matt Code from Wildling Pictures announced: “We’re overjoyed to welcome Ava and Sam onto our team for this charming and humorous adaptation of Mariko Tamaki’s tale. This movie offers a unique and vital perspective on love and friendship. Tommy and Good Girl Productions are ideal collaborators for this project, pouring their heart into the adaptation. Alongside our partners at MXN, we’re excited to join forces with this talented group to bring this story to life on the big screen.
