Jason Momoa Doesn’t Plan to Give His Son a Leg-Up in Hollywood: “He’s Done It All on His Own”

Jason Momoa hopes that his 16-year-old son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, will forge his own unique career path within Hollywood, free from the influence or advantage of his well-known dad.

Actor Jason Momoa, known for playing Aquaman, has clarified to Extra that he hasn’t played any part in helping his son secure a role in director Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming film, Dune: Part Three.

Momoa expressed that Nakoa-Wolf is in for a real eye-opener regarding his casting. Since this will be his first time joining the workforce, it’s going to be an exciting experience. He managed to secure the role without any help from me, and I admire him for doing so independently.

As a huge admirer, I must admit that I truly believe this young talent surpasses me. At his age, I couldn’t even fathom accomplishing what he’s doing, let alone sitting in a room with the esteemed director, Denis Villeneuve, and holding my own. To think, I was on Baywatch at 19, while he’s only 16, impressively managing his craft with Denis Villeneuve.

Nakoa-Wolf is said to be portraying Leto II, opposite Ida Brooke as Ghanima, in the upcoming third part of the franchise. In Frank Herbert’s novel, Dune Messiah, Leto II and Ghanima are the twins born from Timothée Chalamet’s character Paul Atreides and Zendaya’s character Chani.

Regarding Momoa, he portrayed Duncan Idaho in the first part of “Dune” released in 2021 and will reappear in the third movie following his absence in the second one.

The actor portraying the Chief of War, shares Nakoa-Wolf and daughter Lola Iolani Momoa with his former partner, Lisa Bonet.
