Teen Titans DCU Movie Gets Positive Update That Should Excite Fans

The Teen Titans DCU movie has received an exciting update.

In March 2024, there were announcements that a live-action Teen Titans film was being developed at DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures. This upcoming movie is penned by Ana Nogueira, with the director position still unfilled as of now. The project will be incorporated into James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe.

In February 2025, Safran said, via Variety, that the script for Teen Titans is “not ready yet.”

As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that Ana has been pouring her heart into an exceptional screenplay for us. While she’s still polishing the final touches, it’s clear that this is far from a completed draft.

What is the update on the DCU Teen Titans movie?

Since the last update, according to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Nogueira has submitted her initial draft for the Teen Titans project. She is expected to make revisions for DC, which she will do concurrently with working on Wonder Woman.

With Wonder Woman being a top focus for Warner Bros., it’s thrilling to consider that the production of the Teen Titans script might progress swiftly as well. Since Gunn mentioned they won’t initiate any DC Universe projects until the script is up to their expectations, and given that Nogueira is working on two DCU scripts simultaneously, it seems that Gunn and Safran have confidence in her abilities. Consequently, development on Teen Titans could be advancing at a rapid pace.

At the moment, we’re keeping specifics about the project a secret; neither the storyline nor the cast members have been revealed yet.

2024 saw the commencement of DCU in December with Creature Commandos, which was then followed by Gunn’s Superman film this month, while Peacemaker Season 2 is set to debut in August 2025. In the year 2026, we can look forward to the releases of Lanterns, Clayface, and Supergirl.
