The sands will keep running through the hourglass on Days of Our Lives.
Peacock has extended the long-running daytime soap opera for another two years, bringing it to its 63rd season in 2027-2028. Initially, the first 58 seasons were aired on NBC, but since 2022, it has been streaming on its sister platform.
The revival follows directly after the soap opera, ‘Days of Our Lives’, received 13 nominations for the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards, including categories like best daytime drama series, writing, and directing, as well as eight acting nominations. Throughout its long-standing run, the show has accumulated over 60 Daytime Emmys awards.
Currently airing, ‘Days of Our Lives’ is the second-longest running daytime soap opera. It debuted on television screens two years after ‘General Hospital’ did on ABC. The show first aired in November 1965 and is now in its twelfth presidential term, having reached its 15,000th episode by December 2024.
Peacock has not disclosed viewing figures for “Days of Our Lives” since it became an exclusive show on their platform (which is common with streaming series). However, it’s worth noting that “Days” has consistently been among the top 15 most-watched entertainment titles on their service during the last three years.
The series is produced by Corday Productions Inc. in association with Sony Pictures Television.
