Earlier announcements suggested a 2026 release, but this could have covered any month of the year. With this update, fans now have a rough estimate for when they can look forward to watching it.
According to Laughing Place, Disney revealed the approximate release date for “Descendants 5” during the inaugural performance of the Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour. This tour consists of concerts where cast members perform songs from both the “Descendants” and “ZOMBIES” movies and is a series of Disney-produced events.
During the initial performance on July 17 in San Diego, California, a formal announcement appeared on screens scattered across the venue. This revealed that the production titled “Descendants: Wicked Wonderland” is scheduled for a summer release in the year 2026.

In the upcoming movie “Descendants 5”, Kylie Cantrall takes on the role of Red, Malia Baker portrays Chloe Charming, Rita Ora is cast as the Queen of Hearts, while Brandy Norwood joins the cast as Cinderella.
When Will Descendants 5 Be Released?
With Disney revealing that Descendants 5 is set for release in Summer 2026, fans now have a clearer timeline for when they can expect to see the movie. It’s worth noting though, that in the film industry, summer stretches beyond the strict start and end dates marked on calendars.
In the world of entertainment, the summer season doesn’t have a defined beginning or end date. Generally speaking, it kicks off around early May and continues until Labor Day, which is approximately early September.

By examining the release dates of previous “Descendants” films, it appears that we might be able to narrow down the potential premier date.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the release dates for the Descendants series. The original Descendants dropped on July 31, 2015, and then came Descendants 2 on July 21, 2017. Fast forward to August 2, 2019, when Descendants 3 was unveiled. Most recently, on July 12, 2024, we were treated to Descendants: The Rise of Red. It’s been a magical journey, and I can hardly wait for the next adventure!
It’s highly probable that the release of “Descendants: Wicked Wonderland” is scheduled for either towards the end of July or the start of August.
