‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ Renewed for Fourth and Final Season at AMC

Daryl Dixon’s journey to find his way back home has an endpoint.

AMC revealed on Friday during Comic-Con that they have extended The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon for its fourth and concluding season. Filming is set to start shortly in Madrid and various other locations in Spain. The principal cast members, Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, will reprise their roles in the final eight-episode series.

Throughout two exceptional series that cover nearly two decades, Norman and Melissa have breathed life into two of the most renowned characters ever seen on television. Daryl and Carol have led viewers on an unforgettable, deeply human odyssey filled with trials, survival, hope, and camaraderie. The reaction from fans, since the initial episodes of The Walking Dead, has been truly astounding,” expressed Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. “We’re eager to reveal the upcoming third season of Daryl this fall and to start filming this fourth and concluding season in Spain.

Reedus and McBride attended a Comic-Con panel discussion in San Diego, joined by showrunner David Zabel, as well as executive producers Scott M. Gimple, who serves as the chief creative officer for the Walking Dead franchise, and Greg Nicotero.

In other news, the third season of “Daryl Dixon” is due to start on September 7th, taking Reedus’ character Daryl and McBride’s Carol to Spain. Alongside them in this adventure are Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, and Alexandra Masangkay.

Daryl Dixon’s journey has been extraordinary, and I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to every fan who’s accompanied us on this adventure,” Reedus stated. “It’s been a tremendous honor to develop this tale for these characters, and we are deeply grateful for the way it’s resonated with you. Your affection and encouragement have made each step worthwhile. This finale isn’t just an end; it’s a celebration of our shared experience. Keep cherishing that love as Daryl’s journey continues.

McBride remarked, “Working on this segment of Daryl and Carol’s journey across Europe has been an unforgettable experience. I can’t seem to get enough of these characters, as there is still so much untold story and anticipation for the audience. I’m cherishing each moment and eagerly await sharing what we’ve been creating in these stunning locations with fans.

In addition to Zabel, Gimple, Nicotero, Reedus, and McBride, the executive producers of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon also include Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival, and Steve Squillante.
