A 1/1 Patek Philippe Ref. 5711 Nautilus Is Being Auctioned Off For Charity

As a seasoned collector of fine timepieces with a penchant for Patek Philippe, the announcement of the return of the iconic Ref. 5711 Nautilus has sent shivers of excitement down my spine! This watch is not just a piece of horology, but a symbol of craftsmanship and elegance that has graced the wrists of discerning enthusiasts like myself for years.

Patek Philippe is continuing its Cubitus line launch by reintroducing a classic model, the Ref. 5711 Nautilus, which was initially introduced in 2006. This watch is highly sought-after due to its complex design and distinctive colors such as green and Tiffany Blue dials. Patek Philippe has been limiting production of this watch for several years, and this could be the final release of this particular style. The proceeds from this charity edition will go towards a good cause.

The specific model under discussion was designed for Children’s Action, a charity dedicated to assisting impoverished children globally. This unique piece will be auctioned off at their biennial gala scheduled for November 25th. Notably, it showcases a black face and intricate hand-engraving reminiscent of Māori culture, which marks an unprecedented event as it is the first Patek Philippe watch to include such engravings. On the caseback, you’ll find an emblem representing Children’s Action, and the package includes a matching pair of cufflinks.

Since 2005, Children Action has been supported by Patek Philippe, and among the donated watches are pieces like the Ref. 6000T Calatrava from 2007 and the Ref. 5720T Perpetual Calendar Chronograph in 2022. For this year’s watch to be the most valuable of all, it needs to sell for a minimum of $6,503,500 USD, exceeding the value of the Ref. 5720T from last year.
