‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

As a seasoned gamer and avid mystery solver, I’ve spent countless hours immersed in the virtual world of crime-solving, from investigating digital clues as a cyber detective to piecing together evidence as a detective in open-world games. So, when I heard about the return of “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” my excitement knew no bounds!

As a sleuthing game enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the news that Netflix has greenlit another season for “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.” Guess who’ll be back on the case? None other than Emma Myers, reprising her role as our teenage detective in the quaint English village. Can’t wait to dig deeper into those mystery cases!

In 2025, production for another six episodes of Holly Jackson’s hit young adult novel adaptation is set to take place in the U.K., marking season two. Once again, Zain Iqbal will be reprising his role as Ravi Singh.

Based on Netflix’s summary, Pippa Fitz-Amobi (Myers), having solved the Andie Bell case, now faces the consequences and must steer clear of further investigations. However, as Max Hastings’ trial draws near, a crucial witness named Jamie Reynolds mysteriously vanishes. This leaves Pip in a desperate race to locate him before it’s too late, all while grappling with questions about justice.

The hit show “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” is set to premiere on Netflix worldwide, except for the U.K./Ireland, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. Instead, it will be aired in its home country, the U.K., on both BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.

Made by Moonage Pictures (known for “The Gentlemen”, “The Famous Five”, and “Bodies”), this series is a joint production with BBC Three, Netflix, and ZDFneo. The initial season of “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” was screenplay-adapted by Poppy Cogan.

As a devoted fan, I’d say the show perfectly aligns itself with a cherished genre of detective stories featuring teenage sleuths, drawing influences from characters like Nancy Drew, Harriet the Spy, and Veronica Mars, if you’re considering American counterparts. Or, given its quaint village backdrop in Britain, it could be seen as a younger version of Miss Marple. This is according to Daniel Fienberg, THR’s Chief TV critic, in his review for the first season.

In the second season, Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan will handle the adaptation and writing duties. The executive producers are Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins, and Frith Tiplady from Moonage Pictures, while Lucy Richer, Danielle Scott-Haughton, and Katherine Bond represent the BBC. Additionally, Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan will also be involved in the production process.
