In the realm of sports media and entertainment, the brand established jointly by basketball legend Kevin Durant and his seasoned manager Richard Kleiman, known as Boardroom, sees potential for a top-tier subscription service within the sporting world.
As a passionate gamer, I’m excited about the upcoming launch of the exclusive “Gamers’ Inner Circle.” This unique club promises immersive gaming experiences, exclusive perks, and digital benefits all rolled into one, creating a game-changing value proposition that I can’t wait to be a part of. Here’s hoping this will attract a dynamic community of like-minded gamers!
As a valued member, I’ll be part of unique, personalized programming experiences and networking opportunities. There’s an annual conference that’s only open to members like me. Plus, I get to attend Boardroom’s premier events at Art Basel, the NBA All-Star Game, and more throughout the year!
During my professional journey, I’ve been known for fostering connections and creating communities. Thus, it seemed appropriate to expand on the network we had established with Boardroom, particularly in the media and event sectors. The goal is to develop a more close-knit community where individuals with similar interests can thrive,” Kleiman explained to The Hollywood Reporter. “I envision this group will span ages, from those as young as 25 to people in their mid-40s and early-50s. The appeal lies in the diversity of the community members, which I believe will inspire everyone involved, and the resources we continue to provide for them.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Boardroom has assembled an impressive roster of experts for our membership project. Many of these professionals will play crucial roles in shaping the content we offer. Among them are former NFL legend-turned-TV sensation Michael Strahan, versatile musician Mark Ronson, co-head of CAA Sports Mike Levine, and sports broadcasting powerhouse Taylor Rooks. Not only will she serve as a strategic advisor to Boardroom, but Taylor Rooks will also contribute significantly to our project. This team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that I believe will elevate our gaming community to new heights!
Rooks expresses deep excitement about taking on a new role at Boardroom, expanding his connection with a company he admires for its exceptional multimedia stories and live events during significant sports occasions. He praises Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman for creating something unique – a platform that innovatively bridges sports, business, and entertainment. For Rooks, Boardroom embodies the essence of what he cherishes in this industry: relationships, learning, growth, and prospects. With Boardroom Members Club, we’re constructing an environment where genuine connections foster real opportunities, and he looks forward to contributing significantly to a community that nurtures future leaders.
Kleiman believes it’s incredibly beneficial to have them available as we construct the project. He suggests integrating them into the programming throughout the year, whether it’s during live fireside chats, or simply being present when we organize networking events or roundtable discussions. For instance, if we discover a group of our members who are particularly interested in private equity, we could arrange a conversation on Zoom or in person with investor David Blitzer. In his opinion, these opportunities are truly precious for these individuals.
Kleiman mentions that Boardroom intends to cater to professionals working in fields related to sports and media, along with individuals from the financial sector who seek involvement in sports and entertainment industries. It’s also worth noting that athletes, managers, and other relevant figures will be part of the mix as well.
Kleiman notes that he expects individuals from various industries such as Fanatics, CAA, Goldman Sachs, and Nike to be involved. He suggests these individuals might be recently retired or current athletes who may not have the same connections as top football and basketball players. Additionally, he mentions people with a business school background who work in areas like private equity, real estate, or hedge funds, but also value having ties within the sports and entertainment industry.
Previously, the Boardroom had teamed up with Michael Rubin’s Fanatics to initiate a training program specifically designed for professional athletes and their representatives. As part of this program, participants are granted exclusive membership to the Boardroom Members Club at no cost.
