My Best Guess As To Where Heretic Is Going

Unlike most trailers, we as viewers appear to share the same level of mystery with Sisters Barnes and Paxton. However, a speculative idea has arisen from the core narrative of this film that I find compelling.
This role appears to be a departure from Hugh Grant’s usual “orange role” pattern, but it serves a meaningful purpose. Notably, the main character in “Heretic” is Mr. Reed, a man knowledgeable in comparative religion, who puts our young Mormon protagonists in a tough spot as they grapple with choosing between “Faith” and “Skepticism.
