Aamir Khan admits he wasn’t ‘sure’ of son Junaid being good actor for THIS reason, felt ‘worried as a father’

As a seasoned observer of the Bollywood landscape, I can’t help but admire Aamir Khan‘s candidness and his unwavering commitment to nurturing talent, even if it comes from his own family. His concern for Junaid’s readiness to face the harsh realities of showbiz is heartwarmingly reminiscent of a protective parent, a role I’ve seen him play both on and off screen.

Despite receiving praise for his initial movie role in “Maharaj”, Aamir Khan has shared that he initially had doubts about his son Junaid Khan’s choice to enter the acting industry, as portrayed by Aamir in Sitaare Zameen Par.

During a chat with Rhea Chakraborty on her YouTube channel, Aamir Khan discussed his son Junaid Khan’s path. As a proud father, he first acknowledged, “He has demonstrated great potential.” He revealed that when his son expressed his wish to become an actor and study theater; the actor had asked him if he was certain about it.

He advised him, “Since I’m an actor, when your debut film arrives, you’ll inevitably be compared to me due to the label ‘Aamir Khan’s son’. This tag may not go away easily, and you might find yourself unfairly burdened by it.”

Beyond this, he acknowledged that he had doubts about whether his son was a skilled actor. The actor explained, “This was because he was quite timid.” Aamir, who shares the same shyness, admitted that people often laughed off those around him and remained uncertain of his own acting abilities. This is a sentiment that Khan confessed he also had for his son. “I had concerns as a father,” he stated.

Apart from what was said, Aamir made it clear to Junaid that his acting skills were crucial for Aamir’s ability to assist him.

“As my son, you might think I should create a film for you, but I’m unable to do so if I don’t have the opportunity to work. I can’t deceive my audience. However, Junaid acknowledged this and assured me that he doesn’t expect anything, instead asking me to continue being myself.”

As an ardent devotee, let me share my journey: Having consented to the terms set, I found myself at The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts, where I honed my skills for a span of two years. The actor recounts witnessing my transformation, from the initial play to the final one. He disclosed that I was an unknown entity when attending auditions, often met with rejections – until Maharaj. This is how I carved out a distinct niche for myself, the star kid.

Junaid will be next seen in a yet untitled film alongside Sai Pallavi.
