This year, Kiran Rao’s “Laapataa Ladies” directed by her, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, was a huge hit. The movie introduced new actors Pratibha Ranta and Nitanshi Goel alongside Sparsh Shrivastava. All three actors received tremendous appreciation for their performances. In an interview recently, Nitanshi fondly reminisced about her experience making the film.

In an interview with Bombay Times, Nitanshi Goel shared her experience of meeting Aamir Khan for the first time for Kiran Rao’s film “Laapataa Ladies.” This encounter felt surreal to her, almost like a dream coming to life. Moreover, Aamir’s confidence in her played a significant role in her career progression.

The actress, in praising Aamir Khan as a “wonderworker,” reminisced, “He repeatedly complimented my acting to Mumma and Kiran ma’am. He declared, ‘She’s a precious gem. She’ll become a star. We want her for our film regardless.’ And that was the turning point for me. Tears welled up in my eyes, a smile graced my lips, and I was at a loss for how to express myself.”

Nitanshi Goel says Kiran Rao ensured a nurturing environment on the sets of Laapataa Ladies

Alongside this, Nitanshi shared that Rao played a crucial role in providing stability and motivation throughout the filming. She mentioned that the director created a positive atmosphere, enabling the newcomer actors to thrive. In her words, he made the challenging experience appear effortless.

During the conversation, she confessed to feeling anxious on her initial day of filming for an intense scene. But Rao reassured her, remarking, “Don’t worry, you’ll do great. You’re just like those students who are overly confident yet underperform in exams, but you will excel.”

Nitanshi described how the entire scene was captured in a single take. When Rao called for a halt, Nitanshi’s eyes filled with emotion, and Rao was also tearful. She applauded, and everyone else joined in, creating an unforgettable moment.
