Aamir Khan reveals he wants to work till 70 and promote young talent; says 'Uske baad zindagi kisne dekhi hai'

As a fervent admirer of Aamir Khan, I find myself captivated by his unwavering dedication to his craft and the Hindi cinema industry as a whole. His latest revelation about actively working till he’s 70 years old and fostering young talent through his productions is nothing short of inspiring.

Known affectionately as Bollywood’s perfectionist, Aamir Khan has been a significant figure in Hindi cinema for many years. Most recently, he appeared as the lead actor in Laal Singh Chaddha (2022). Interestingly, this year, he collaborated with his ex-wife, Kiran Rao, to produce the film Laapataa Ladies. At 59 years old, this superstar has expressed his intention to keep working actively until he reaches 70 and continue supporting emerging talents by producing their films. He also added with a hint of uncertainty, “who knows what lies ahead in the future.”

On August 9 (Friday), Aamir Khan joined Kiran Rao, the director and co-producer, at the Supreme Court for the premiere of Laapataa Ladies. In a video shared by ANI on their platform, Aamir is seen discussing his upcoming plans.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Aamir found himself with plenty of time to ponder over his professional journey. Reflecting on those moments, the star of Laal Singh Chaddha expressed that he believes his career may be nearing its final phase.

Three years ago, when Aamir was 56, he recalled his statement, “I mentioned, ‘I still have another 15 years of active work until I reach 70. What comes after that, only time will tell.'”

According to the producer of Laapataa Ladies, he typically releases one movie every three years, and he intends to repay the audience for their support by continuing to produce movies. This actor-filmmaker expressed gratitude for the affection and admiration he has received from the Hindi film industry, society, and India, and now he wants to reciprocate by making more films.

Aamir explained that, as an actor, he could stick to releasing one movie per year. Yet, he intends to foster new talent by means of his production companies. Moreover, the star of “Earth” shared that he wants to tell stories that resonate with him personally.

Aamir clarified that while he may not star in every film, he intends to take on a producing role instead. His goal is to serve as a platform for budding artists, nurturing their talents. The renowned actor expressed his ambition to produce around 4-5 films annually, offering quality content similar to Laapataa Ladies to the viewers.

In the main roles of Laapataa Ladies were fresh talents Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, and Sparsh Shrivastava. Additionally, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan played significant parts in this production. The premiere took place in cinemas on March 1, 2024.
