Aamir Khan was nervous during his kissing scene in THIS film, recalls co-star Kitu Gidwani: ‘Un dino mein wo koi nahin tha’

Reflecting on the illustrious career of Aamir Khan, I find myself in awe of his humble beginnings and unparalleled rise to stardom. As a lifestyle expert, I have had the privilege of witnessing the journey of many talented individuals, but few compare to the meteoric ascent of this cinematic genius.

Aamir Khan kick-started his acting journey as a child artist in the 1973 film “Yaadon Ki Baaraat,” directed by his uncle, Nasir Hussain. Later, he made an appearance as an adult in Ketan Mehta’s 1984 movie “Holi.” In 1988, Aamir took on a leading role in the film “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.” Over time, Aamir has proven himself to be one of Indian cinema’s most talented actors, earning enduring pride for his work. Not long ago, actress Kitu Gidwani disclosed that Aamir was apprehensive during a kissing scene in “Holi,” as he was still relatively unknown at the time. Kitu remarked that he was considered “insignificant” back then.

In a recent podcast conversation between Siddharth Kannan and Kitu Gidwani, an amusing story about working together with Aamir Khan on the set of Holi was disclosed by Kitu. This tale took him back to when they filmed a kissing scene under Ketan Mehta’s direction in the past.

“At one point, Aamir Khan wasn’t famous… His journey was just starting. I didn’t know who he was back then. Aamir was a cinema enthusiast with a creative mind. When we were about to perform, he was as nervous as I was. He was humble and kind-hearted. He was an ordinary actor like us,” said Kitu on the podcast.

Kitu Gidwani likewise narrated her story of landing the part in Ketan Mehta’s Holi. At 57 years old, the actress revealed that the director offered her the role while she was participating in student films. She further mentioned that it was a small role portraying a “campus sex symbol.

Kitu reminisced about going to Madhur Bhandarkar’s party for his 2008 movie Fashion in Juhu, where she met Aamir Khan. She recollected how Aamir complimented her acting in their 1998 film Earth during the gathering. Kitu felt that Aamir appreciates her performances and wished that the renowned actor might cast her in a future project.

In terms of his professional endeavors, Aamir Khan is preparing for the release of Sitaare Zameen Par. This upcoming movie will be helmed by R.S. Prasanna, and it features Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh alongside Aamir. Notably, this film serves as a sequel to their 2007 project Taare Zameen Par.
