As a seasoned gamer with a keen eye for design and an unquenchable thirst for all things innovative, I find myself utterly captivated by A$AP Rocky’s HOMMEMADE creative studio. The way they blend art, architecture, and functionality in their designs is nothing short of breathtaking!
In 2022, A$AP Rocky’s creative studio HOMMEMADE debuted at Design Miami, showcasing their Shroom CACTUS® – a unique, mushroom-adorned cactus design created in collaboration with Gufram as a limited edition. This year, the label spearheaded by A$AP Rocky (also known as Flacko) revisited the Curio section of Design Miami with a fresh creation: the Skyline Carpet, an innovative interior concept that reinvented traditional rugs by featuring three-dimensional New York City skyscrapers in partnership with Gufram once more.
The experimental carpet, measuring 300 cm by 300 cm, reflects the downtown layout of the city with buildings made from Gufram’s distinctive polyurethane material. Rocky expressed a strong affinity for this city, saying “New York represents innovation and dynamism, much like our design projects.” For their second collaboration with Gufram, they aimed to create a piece that captures the essence of the city by blending art, architecture, and functionality. As a creative individual, Rocky’s goal is to design objects that not only serve as furniture but also stimulate and inspire.
The Skyline Carpet is included in HOMMEMADE’s “Galaxy” series, offering a glimpse into an imaginative blend of retro-futurism seen from a satellite’s perspective. This collection additionally features the Satellamp projector and lamp, along with Rocky’s expansive CBNT.V1 studio and entertainment center, which made its premiere at Shanghai during Moncler’s recent Genius fashion show.
