In a chat with Mid-Day, Anurag Basu clarified that Triptii Dimri’s departure from Aashiqui 3 wasn’t due to her lacking the ‘innocence’ needed for the main female character. “That isn’t accurate,” he explained to the publication, adding that Triptii is fully aware of this fact herself.

Previously, a source revealed to Zoom that maintaining an air of innocence is crucial for the role of the heroine in Aashiqui 3. However, the production team has noted that the actress from Animal, due to her recent roles, may have shown too much exposure, making her unsuitable for this romantic film which necessitates a pure and demure female lead. Consequently, the creators do not believe Tripti meets the criteria to portray the female lead.

Previously, a reliable insider disclosed to TopMob, “Triptii has sparked a lot of buzz due to Animal’s remarkable achievement, and the producers believe she will ignite the screen alongside Kartik Aaryan. Discussions have been ongoing for some time, and they have now officially cast her as the female lead in the project.
